Learn about our proprietary scores

Stability Score 0–100

Measures the operational steadiness of a facility's staffing profile over time. Derived from six sub-metrics drawn from CMS Payroll-Based Journal data: total HPRD stability, RN coverage consistency, weekend staffing ratios, contract dependency, zero-RN day frequency, and quarter-over-quarter volatility.

Typical reading: 80+ is stable, 60–79 is adequate, below 60 indicates active staffing stress.

Opportunity Score 0–100

A composite signal combining staffing gaps, revenue quality, regulatory pressure, facility size, and recent violation activity. Developed for contract staffing agencies, hospice BD teams, and other vendors evaluating partnership targets. Paired with the Stability Score, it separates "needs help" from "can pay for help."

Typical reading: 75+ is high priority, 50–74 is moderate, below 50 indicates lower fit.

Compliance Status Categorical

A plain-language classification derived from current ratings, recent deficiency patterns, penalty activity, and inspection cycle position. Four tiers: Compliant, At Risk, Non-compliant, and Critical. Intended as a quick filter for buyers screening large facility sets.

Not a substitute for reading the underlying health inspection data, which is always included in delivered reports.

Acquisition Attractiveness 0–100

PE/REIT-focused composite signaling turnaround potential and market position. Combines financial distress indicators, ownership stability, market density, and quality trajectory.

Typical reading: 70+ is strong acquisition candidate, 50–69 requires closer diligence, below 50 is lower priority.
